Trip summary

Day trip to the Marilyn Bioda Mor on the island of Dun (St Kilda) NF 10427 97348

Co-ordinator

Alastair Govan

Trip itinerary

Due to conservation restrictions access to Dun is only possible between November and March. To fit in around possible weather windows and boat availability a provisional
opportunistic request to boat owner for March has been made.
The trip scheduling will by necessity tend to require individuals to be available at short notice. You would need to be available in March to travel to Leverburgh (Harris) at 2-3
days notice. There is no commitment at this stage, and it is estimated that we need at least 20 people interested in order to have a reasonable chance of filling a boat at short
notice. If there is insufficient demand (or no boat available) we will try again in November/December 2025 or March 2026.

Places available

12 spaces are available

Departure or meeting place

Leverburgh, Harris

Day trip.

Challenges and competences needed

The trip will only run if there is a fair chance of landing, but nevertheless there could be a choppy sea on the crossing and landing is not guaranteed and requires ability to land on a rocky shelf in a sea swell.

Businesses arranged through

Boat trips to St Kilda – Sea Harris – seaharris.com – A company with an excellent reputation and ability to undertake these difficult landings

Cost

Estimated cost £290pp based on 12 passengers. If we go ahead with a smaller number the cost will be higher.
