Trip itinerary

To coincide with other RHSoc Trips planned from Ullapool in early May 2025.
Two trips are planned, with target islands as below. As usual with SIB trips, they will be subject to weather conditions and skipperā€™s decisions on the day and there can be no guarantee of landing on all or any of the islands. Note that the running order of the trips may be changed near to the departure to suit sea conditions and ensure the maximum
number of islands can be visited.

Trip 1 departing from Kylesku:

  • Eilean a Ghamhna
  • Calbha Mor
  • Calbha Beag
  • Eilean na Bearachd
  • Eilean Dubh
  • Eilean Dornaidh Oscair
  • Eilean Garbh
  • Ceannamhor
  • Meall Mor
  • Meall Beag

Garbh Eilean is accessible direct from road and most likely members will visit before or after boat trip.

1st October 2024 update

Places are still available.

We’re adding the Island of OldanyĀ to theĀ KyleskuĀ trip. This has a Hump, Sidhean nan Ealachan, 104m, and a Tump, Cnoc Leathan, 66m.

Whilst the island is mapped as being tidal, hill-bagging logs suggest this is not the case, and anyway there would hardly be time to ascend the SIB / Hump and return to the crossing point at low tide.

Trip 2 departing from Kinlochbervie:

  • Eilean a Chonnaidh
  • Eilean an Roin Mor
  • Eilean an Roin Beag
  • Eilean na Saille
  • Eilean Ard
  • Eilean a Mhadaidh
  • Eilean Dubh na Fionnadalach
  • Eilean an Eireannaich
  • Eilean a Chad-fi
  • Garbh Eilean
  • Am Beag
